DAVENPORT -- Services for Warren Alexander, of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Mr. Alexander died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at Davenport Medical Center. He retired in 1976 after 35 years as a bookkeeper, secretary and treasurer at Industrial Engineering Equipment Co., Davenport. He was born Nov. 15, 1913, in Mahaska County, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Lyda (Woods) Alexander. He married Elinore K. Kolb on Aug. 11, 1945, in Harlan, Iowa. Warren was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, at which he was a choir member for 48 years and also a member of its Eager Beavers. He enjoyed bowling with the Inter-Church Bowling League. His hobbies and interests included reading, cross puzzles and music. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church. Survivors include is wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Jim Warner, Garden Grove, Calif., Jackie and Tom Mayne, Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Sherrie Woods, Honolulu; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister.
