"Margaret Roberta Lutes, 88, Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, July 23, 1999, at Raymore Healthcare Center, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Countryside United Methodist Church; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Hinton-Gibson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Countryside United Methodist Church.

"Mrs. Lutes was born November 21, 1910, in Bucklin, KS, the fifth child of Robert and Mollie Stone. She received an undergraduate degree at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO, and her masters degree at the University of Iowa, where she met and later married Robert Koch Lutes of Dubuque, IA, on July 28, 1938, in Canton, MO. She was a music teacher in the Kansas City area for many years before retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Countryside United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Cleveland Avenue and Aldersgate Methodist Churches, where she was a choir director for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in September 1991. Survivors include her [two] sons, . . . ; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. (Arrangements: Hinton-Gibson Funeral Home)."
