MACON -- Florence M. Adams, 101, of Macon, IL passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Eastern Star Home, Macon.
A service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Florence will be laid to rest next to her husband Thomas in South Macon Township Cemetery.
Florence was born on September 21, 1913 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Lewellyn L. and Orpha (Moad) Wantland. She was a homemaker and a member of Macon United Methodist Church, 72 year member of Order of the Eastern Star Vivian Chapter, Macon Women’s Club, IL Federation Women’s Club, Eight and Forty and American Legion Auxiliary. Florence married Thomas J. Adams, Jr. in St. Louis, MO on March 23, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2009.
Florence is survived by her son: Roger Lee Adams of Mesa, AZ; brother: James Clifford (Hildred) Wantland of Macon, IL; grandchildren: Angela Huckaby and Michael (Holly) Adams; 5 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant children, brother: Lawrence L. Wantland and her daughter-in-law: Joyce Adams.
