Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Wednesday, May 15, 1918:
Mrs. Alice Johnson, wife of Cato Johnson, 206 Paris street, died at 1:30 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital, at the age of 49 years. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, three sons, Leonard Crowley in serve at Newport, W. Va., and Claude and Ralph Crowley of Des Moines, and a daughter, Mrs. Clara Letts, of Chicago.
The funeral will be tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock, at the Second Baptist church. Rev. B.F. Abner will conduct the services, assisted by William Page.

The funeral of Mrs. Alice Johnson, wife of Cato Johnson was held this afternoon from Sullivan's undertaking parlors at 2:30 o'clock to the Second Baptist church at 3 o'clock. Rev. B.F. Abner was in charge of the services, assisted by William Page. Burial followed in Shaul cemetery.
