DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN.
--Mr. A. M. Brown, one of our oldest citizens, died at his home, near Troy, on the 9th inst. Mr. Brown was born in Lincoln county, N.C., on the 4th of March, 1816. In 1825, when he was nine years old, his father moved to this state. Since that time he has been a resident of Lincoln county--a period of fifty-one years. He was an upright, industrious citizen, and enjoyed the good will and esteem of all who knew him. His wife died about a year and half since. To them were born a number of children, four of whom are still living. Mr. Brown was a member of the Old School Baptist denomination of Christians.
