Carribel Johnson “Carrie” Johnson, age 82, of White Plains, Georgia, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Mrs. Carribel was born February 7, 1933, in Sparta, Georgia to the late Evie Michael Johnson and Bert Johnson, Sr. She graduated from Sparta High School and was a member of Noles Chapel in Sparta, GA. During her working career she worked as a seamstress for Royal Manufacturing in Crawfordville, Siloam Manufacturing in Siloam and Stewart Apparel in Greensboro, GA retiring in 1976. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Thomas Lewis and Edward Lewis both of White Plains,GA; daughters, Evelyn Lewis Smith of Opelika, AL and Kathy Lewis Edwards of Siloam, GA; daughter-in-law, Sharon Lewis of Union Point, GA; grandchildren, Jamie Lewis, Dean Edwards, Jeanette Whitlow, Karen Grant, Robbie Smith, Jeff Smith, Tina Hicks, Matt Lewis, and Timmy Lewis; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild; a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Lewis; her second husband, Levy Johnson; a son, Tim Lewis; sisters, Ann Webb and Elizabeth Newton; and a brother, Bert Johnson, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Usry and Rev. Craig Foster officiating. Interment will follow in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, 1020 Main Street W., White Plains, GA 30678. Serving as pallbearers are Steve Webb, P C Webb, Randall Newton, Johnny Webb, Richard Dunagan, Mike Webb, David Price and William Coleman. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
