Albert Abernathy, 48, died at Jefferson Barracks Hospital in St. Louis Tuesday morning after an illness of several weeks. He was a resident of Cairo.

He was born in McClure and was employed in Cairo, until several weeks ago as a Kroger plant foreman.

Besides his wife, he leaves four brothers, Leiter Abernathy,Fontana, Calif., Gordon Abernathy, New Madrid, Mo., Bill Abernathy, Springfield, Ill., and Howard Abernathy, Murphysboro; and two sisters, Miss Grace Abernathy, McClure, Ill., and Mrs. T.A. Lollar, Murphysboro.

Services were held at the First Christian Church at Cairo with burial in the Jonesburg Cemetery.
