Bellingham resident, Ruth Catherine Peak, age 95, died Saturday October 23, 2010 at Alderwood Park Convalescent Center in Bellingham.
She was born August 27, 1915 to Otto and Matilda Portenier in Cowles, Nebraska.
Ruth married Benjamine Peak on December 3, 1938.
They moved with their twin children, Mary and Nick to North Bellingham in 1955. She worked in the credit dept at Sears Roebuck and later was employed as a receptionist & bookkeeper at the County Hospital. Ruth retired in 1977, and they moved to Fairhaven. After her husband's death, Ruth moved to The Willows and later to Spring Creek Retirement facility.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her twin children, Mary Rouleau of Bellingham and Nick Peak of Edmonds; sister Doris Breckner of Hastings, Nebraska; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Church of the Assumption or Catholic Community Services. There will be a Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 30th at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption with Rev. K.
