LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 11 am. in Christ Gospel Church in Lafayette for Helen Ruth Hunt. 72, the former Helen Ruth Drake, who passed away peacefully Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 2.45 p m. at her residence in Rayne. Interment will be In Greenlawn Memorial Gardens In Lafayette. The Rev. B R. Hicks, pastor of Christ Gospel Church International in Jeffersonville, Indiana, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Hunt was a native of Hueytown. Alabama and a resident of Lafayette for 25 years. She was a Pastor along with her husband. Rev. Robert L Hunt at Christ Gospel Church In Lafayette.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Robert L Hunt Sr. of Lafayette; five sons, Robert L Hunt Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Jeffersonville, IN, Gary Allen Hunt and his wife, Mary, of Scott, LA; Barry "William" Hunt and his wife, Sharon, of Charlestown, IN, Timothy Wayne Hunt, Sr. and his wife, Debra, of Breaux Bridge, LA. and Andrew Joseph Hunt, Sr. and his wife, Bonnie, o! Chalmette, LA, two daughters, Yvonne Manecke and her husband. Ralph, of Rayne. LA and Laurie Carrier of Scott LA; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren and one on the way; four brothers, WT. Drake, Jr. and his wife, Edim, of Dolomite, AL James Drake and his wife, Helen, of Bessemer, AL, Clarance Drake of Bessemer, AL and Joe Drake of Ohio; and two sisters, Thelma Drake and her husband, Rudd in. of Aiken, SC and Mary McMillan of Decater, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Thomas Drake, Sr. and the former Trannie Mae Gibson, three brothers, Charlie Drake, Troy Drake, and Ted Drake; and three sisters, Mildred Drake, Dixie Drake Perkin, and Gal Drake.
A prayer service will be held at 8 pm. Monday, at Christ Gospel Church In Lafayette. The family request that visiting hours be observed at Christ Gospel Church in Lafayette from 6 pm. until 9 p m. Monday, and will continue from 9 am. until service on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Manecke, Robert Hunt Jr., Gary Hunt, Barry Hunt, Timothy Hunt Sr., and Andrew Joseph Hunt Sr.
