Robert LeRoy Hunt, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Gospel Church in Lafayette for Robert LeRoy Hunt, Sr., age 78, who passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. The Rev. Delbert Brooks, pastor of Christ Gospel Church in Purvis, Mississippi, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Hunt was a native of Florida and a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was the pastor of Christ Gospel Church from 1975 to 2003.
Survivors include five sons, Robert L. Hunt, Jr. of Jeffersonville, IN, Gary A. Hunt and his wife, Margaret, of Duson, William Barry and his wife, Sharron, of Jeffersonville, IN, Timothy Wayne Hunt of Breaux Bridge and Andrew Joseph Hunt of Chalmette; one daughter, Yvonne Manecke and her husband, Ralph, of Rayne; twenty three grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; and three brothers, Charles Neil Hunt and his wife, Doreen of Lakeland, FL, Ray Dean Hunt and his wife, Nancy, of Winter Haven, FL and Gary Hunt and his wife, Jeannie, of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hunt; his parents, Charles Henry Hunt and the former Lydia Liehr; and one daughter, Laurie Carriere.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro. Visitation will reopen at Christ Gospel Church. From 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at Christ Gospel Church in Lafayette.
Pallbearers will be Barry Hunt, Jr., Tim Hunt, Jr., Daniel Hunt, Ralph Manecke, Jr., Johnathan Manecke and Andy Hunt, Jr.
