Taken from us too soon, Judy succumbed to cancer after being diagnosed nine short weeks ago.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Henry G. Coors IV, retired Albuquerque attorney and businessman, and would have celebrated 25 years of marriage on Christmas Eve;
She also leaves behind her brother Larry La Rose; daughters, Kimberly Fullmer and Kathleen Fletcher; sons, Peter Kern, Robert Kern III, and Joseph Kern; step-daughters Kirsten Coors Houliston, Shelly Coors Riccobene, and Lori Coors Polosky; as well as 25 grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Judy was the daughter of Henry LaRose and Muriel Acker-LaRose of Ogdensburg, NY and grew up in a military family in the United States and Europe.
In 1964, Judy married Robert Kern Jr. and became a military wife and mother of six children as well as a foster parent. She was active in her church and community and served as President of the Officers' Wives Club. In 1982 Judy worked for Cavan Associates developing and leasing office space for properties in Phoenix and Albuquerque.
Judy married Henry in 1985. After five years, they moved near Chama where Judy was active in the church and among her friends in the mountain communities. When Henry retired in 2000, Judy and Henry spent five years traveling in their motorhomes and developed friendships from California to Nova Scotia. They settled in Casa Grande, AZ in 2005 and returned to Albuquerque in 2008.
Judy was a woman of limitless energy, and was cherished by her husband and family. She was loved by large network of friends.
Services in Albuquerque on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at Desert Springs Church, 705 Osuna, NE.
