Helen "Maybell" Davis Rummage, age 87, of Asheboro died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mrs. Rummage was born September 16, 1927, the daughter of Burpee P. and Anna Lorine Alexander Davis.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Luther Dee "L.D." Rummage, Jr.

She was a native of Mooresville, NC and raised four children. Helen moved with her husband, a US Air Force veteran to Asheboro after 1963. She was the voter registrar for Asheboro Precinct #1 and a member of the YMCA Board and Hospice Board. She was also a member of the North Asheboro Board to get into the city. Helen was a substitute teacher for Asheboro City and Randolph County School Systems. She taught Primary Sunday School class, was a circle leader for 10 years and also served as consistory deacon and elder at her church.

She is survived by one son, three daughters, a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren

The funeral was held at First E & R United Church of Christ, Asheboro with Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial was at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, Salisbury.
