Dora Lou Holman, 87, of Anadarko, was born April 22, 1927, to Virga Jasper and Willie Mae (Patterson) Luttrell in Mountain View, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on Thursday, March 19, 2015, in Chickasha.
As a child, Dora and her family moved from Mountain View to Carnegie where she was raised and attended school. She graduated with the Class of 1947. Dora worked for a few years at the Carnegie T.G.&Y. She and the late Bill Holman were married on March 11, 1954, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Carnegie. Dora and Bill moved to Anadarko and joined the Anadarko First Church of the Nazarene. She became a homemaker. Dora was the Sunday School secretary and, along with Lynnie Lamar, Cleaned the church for many years. She also babysat numerous children through the years.
Dora and Bill liked to travel and were members of an R.V. travel club. They were also members of the ONGoers. She enjoyed crocheting word-find puzzles and loved spending time with all of her grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Bill; grandchild, Joshua East; great grandchildren, Donovan East and Deanna East; sisters, Velma Monard and Odean Mills.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Karr and her husband, Jack of Anadarko; one son Terry Holman and his wife, Debbie of Geary; ten grandchildren, Daniel East and his wife, Svitlana of Anadarko, Chandra Scott and her husband, Todd of Oklahoma City, Sarah Neece and her husband, Michael of Anadarko, Zachary East and his wife, Amy of Elgin, Megan Owens of Oklahoma City, Rita Finney and her husband, Patrick of Geary, Rachael Baker and her husband, Michael of Dill City, Matt Holman and his wife, Kelly of Alma, Nebraska, Shannon Holman of Dill City and C.J. Holman of Manitou; twenty-one Great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; siblings, Ray Luttrell and his wife, Mary Kay of Anadarko, Emmett Luttrell and his wife, Maurine of California, Veronica Sloan of Bethany and Aneta Erikson and her husband, Tom of Anadarko; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral is scheduled for 2 P.M., Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Anadarko First Church of the Nazarene with pastor, Curtis Koscheski officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.steversonfuneralhome.com.
