Newsome Dougherty "Wiz" Wisdom passed away December 30, 2013 peacefully at his home with his loved ones beside him. Wiz was born in Texas and was one of 14 children. He served 4 years in the Army as a cook which started his 60 year career and love of cooking. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lorraine, and his son-in-law, Richard Veilleux. He is survived by his daughters: Catherine Lighthill, Victoria Veilleux and Frances Eikeberg; Grandchildren Marc Veilleux, Matthew Lighthill, Curt Veilleux, Emily Eikeberg and Jonathan Eikeberg; Great Grandchildren Marissa Veilleux, Billie Lighthill, Jessie Lighthill and Jacob Lighthill. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Fansler, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews. His generous, loving spirit and smile will be missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Wiz on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Tropics Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 33000 Almaden Avenue, Union City, California. Services under direction of Holy Angels Funeral Center in Hayward, California.
