David Leon Adams, age 70, passed away at his residence on March 20, 2015. He was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. He was a member of The Kittrell Blue Devils from 1959-1963, also known as the boys from Cripple Creek. He was a veteran in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam war and a Graduate of Kittrell High School and Middle Tennessee State University. David was the former owner of Adams Food Market and retired from Aerostructures, INC.
David was preceded in death by his father, Henry Adams, mother, Mildred Adams Roden, step-father, Henry Roden, brother, Ray Roden and sister, Betty Adams Rooker. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Davenport Adams of Murfreesboro, daughter, Shannon (James) Adams Brewer of Murfreesboro, brothers, Doris Wade (Clara) Adams of Milton, William Rick (Reba) Adams of Murfreesboro, Pete Roden of Smyrna and Gary Wayne Roden of Murfreesboro, sister, Kathy Banks of Murfreesboro and grandchildren “The Loves of His Life”; David Logan Maynard, Maddie Adams Brewer, Gracie Brewer, Allie Brewer and Ethan Brewer.
A service will be held for David on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Bud Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery with nephews and nephews-in-laws serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
