Jessie (Jesse) Alamo Hamman was a daughter of Adam H. and Annie (Pierce) Hamman. She was born in Indian Territory (OK).

Her parent's 1896 'Cherokee Application' (denied), sent from Stonewall, Indian Territory, on behalf of their children, Altha Luella (Louella),age 5; John Clem, age 3; and Jesse Alamo, age 1; had her name spelled as 'Jesse'.

Many genealogy researchers have Jessie listed as a male, likely because of the above spelling.

The photo album of my grandparents, John Clem and Clara Blanch Hamman has a photo, ca. mid 1900s, of Jessie and three of her siblings, with inscription: "Clem, Jessie, Tom, and Grace". Jessie is clearly a female (Altha is not in the photo). The 'Family History of Annie Pierce', a collaboration by sisters Altha and Grace, indicate her name as Jessie.

The 1900 US Federal Census-Township 1, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (OK) lists "Jessie" as "daughter" of Adam and Annie Hamman, and born in November of 1894.

Another photo ca. 1940s has a picture of "Jessie & Emma". (Emma is possibly a daughter of Jessie) taken at Lancaster, CA, where my grandparents lived.

A family genealogy form, obtained from my aunt indicates Jessie as b. 14 Nov 1895, and d. 29 Dec 1964, no additional information.

No further records have been found for Jessie. Any married name is unknown. Please contact me if you have any information about my grandfather's sister, Jessie Alamo Hamman.
