He was an active Realtor in Memphis and taught real estate classes at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. He served as president of the Memphis Chapter of Realtors and was on the board of the National Association of Realtors for a number of years.
He also was a member of the Life Blood board. He enjoyed skeet shooting and was always willing to provide safety instruction.
He had many friends in Memphis and throughout the world. He traveled extensively with his wife, Joan and together visited all seven continents.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dave Dermon III and parents, Harry and Carolyn Dermon.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Joan Dermon; grandchildren, Ella Dermon and Dave Dermon IV.
