Actor, Director, Painter. Born Lauritz Falk Meyer de Chezaulz. He had a Swedish father and a Norwegian mother, and to begin with he lived and worked in Norway. He studied art in Oslo and Paris and commenced his career as an artist. Decorating scenery for a theatre production he had the chance to act on stage as a substitute, since the starring actor took ill. This was the beginning of an acting career spanning more than fifty years on screen and stage. His film debute was in "Som ni vill ha mej" (1943), and he made over 50 films in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, USA, England, Italy and France. 1970-1982 and 1985-1988 he was tied to the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, but acted at most of the leading theatres as well. He also directed several stage productions, both plays and musicals. Apart from this career, he maintained his artistic talent, and had several exhibitions of his art. He also was a good singer and made many performances and recordings.
