Mrs. Mabel Parshall
SENECA CASTLE - Mrs. Mabel Whitney Parshall, 96, died last night in the Margaret Ayre Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday in the Bennett Funeral Home at 2 p.m. The Rev. M. E. Barthomoew, former pastor of the Seneca Castle Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Whitney Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience.
Mrs. Parshall was born in Seneca Castle on June 9, 1968. She was the daughter of Daniel H. Whitney and Martha VanGelder Whitney, the great great granddaughter of Capt. Jonathan Whitney who moved his family from Conway, Mass., in 1791, to (Old Castle Farm) near Geneva. She was married to the late Frank L. Parshall, widely known in Seneca Castle. He died in 1936.
She was a member of the Seneca Castle Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are two nephews, Maurice P. Whitney of Elmira; Claude H. Bond Berwyn of Illinois; two nieces, Mrs. Margaret W. Hillegas of Syracuse, and Mrs. Kenneth Taylor of Syracuse.

In Surrogate's Court
After providing that not less than $2,000 nor more than $2,500 shall be expended for a monument over his grave and an additional $600 to the Whitney Cemetery Association of Seneca Town, Frank L. Parshall who died in Seneca, October 7, bequeathes life use of a substantial estate to his widow, Mabel W. Parshall. She is also given the home- stead at Seneca Castle outright, together with its furnishings.
At Mrs. Parshall's death, $3,000 is to go to the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Castle and $10,000 to Jay Shear of Palmyra. Bequests of $1,000 each are to be, paid to Miriam Shear of Palmyra, Carrie B. Haskins of Waterloo, Claud H. Bond of Berwin, ILL., Maurice P. Whitney of Elmira, Harriet E. Whitney of Syracuse and Margaret J. Whitney of Cortland.
One-half of the residuary estate is then to pass to the Ontario Children's Home in Canandaigua and the balance to the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Castle. The Geneva Trust Company qualified as executor of this estate in Surrogate Court here yesterday.
