DAVENPORT--Karl F. Arp, of Davenport, died on Saturday, Sep. 24, 2005, at his home in Davenport. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sep 28, at Calvery United Methodist Church, Walcott, Iowa and on Thursday, Sep. 29, at Calvery United Methodist Church for one hour prior to service. Interment will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Karl F. Arp was born August 14, 1919, to Rudolph and Louise (Schlichting) Arp in Scott County, Iowa. He married Nelba M. Moeller on September 27, 1944, in Davenport. He farmed in Scott County, retiring in 1982. He also sold for MoorMan's Feed Co., Quincy, Ill., for 22 years. Karl was a member of Roosevelt Lodge 626, Davenport Kaaba Shrine, where he was past president of the Greeters; and the Mohassan Grotto. He was a member of the past president of the Walcott Lions and Community Clubs. He was a 50 year member of the Davenport Moose Lodge 28. Karl served on and was past president of the Walcott Community School Board. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan and loved to play cards. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Nelba Arp of Davenport, four sons, Duane and his wife (Elaine) Arp, of Walcott, Loren and his wife (Sherry) Arp of Walcott, Kent and his wife,(Marilyn) Arp of Davenport and Dana and his wife (Brenda) Arp of Davenport, one brother, Lester and his wife (Luetta) Arp of Walcott; three sisters-in-law,Eunice Arp, of Walcott, Viola Arp, of Bettendorf and Florence of Davenport; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchldren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, Alma Arp, Hilda and Obert Plambeck, and Leona and Harold Puck, brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Florence Arp, Rudolph Arp II, Arthur Arp, Edwin and Lenora Arp and his step-grandson, Robert Thorton.
