Dorothy Duletzke, beloved of the Brindley, Geiersbach and Duletzke Families, was called by Our Lord March 10, 2015. Dorothy was born November 6, l928 on the family farm of John and Matilda (Illig) Brindley, near Hale, MI. The 4th of twelve children.
As a young girl, Dorothy lost her mother at the age of 9 and proceeded to work hard and live frugally the rest of her life. Her calling was as a caregiver and to share her love for people.
She was married for 15 years to Earl Geiersbach. Dorothy lived in Bay City for the last 70 years in her home which she treasured.
Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish - St. Mary’s Church and Visitation Parish previously.
Dorothy leaves behind husband Earl, son Jerome and daughter-in-law Mary, 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Shannon and Nathan, and stepchildren David, Janet and Glori. Also a sister-in-law Lucille and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by five brothers, Louis (Etta) Brindley, Clarence (Madeline) Brindley, Howard (Neta) Brindley, Richard (Lucille) Brindley and John (Sarah) Brindley and six sisters, Eva Brindley, Louisa Brindley, Clara (George) Dahl, Irene (Heiner) Hunt, Helen (Leonard) Rehil and Genice (Karl) Wilson Berg.
The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Parish – St. Mary’s Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with the Rite of Committal following at Elm Lawn Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Parish Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Duletzke will lie instate at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
