Note: Some Newspapers from Torch Light (Hagerstown, Maryland) have his last name spelled Maugins with property he was selling in Maugansville.


Note: In 1827 Abraham and his wife Elizabeth and their 11 children came by wagon train over a route known as the Maugans Trail. He selected 880 acres of land which he bought. He divided this into 80 acre plots and a log cabin was built on each of these plots. He gave each of his children one of these plots for a home. He was a farmer and orchardist. He died Feb, 1833 in Washington County, Maryland.
