S/O Louisa Mae CLAY & James Henry Rorrer. H/O Hattie Belvia LAVERTY Rorrer. Veteran of World War I, 5th Division, 61st Infantry. (Frank was gassed during the war and never made a full recovery. He died at an early age due to complications from having been gassed). Father of: Virgil Gernzey Rorrer, Vester Gene Rorrer, Virginia Louisa Rorrer, John Fulton Rorrer, Carl Wendell Rorrer, Essie Belle Rorrer & Arizona Lee Rorrer.

World War Veteran Dies In Ambulance On Way To Hospital

John Franklin Rorrer, 44, of Dameron, died as he was being rushed to a Huntington hospital Tuesday evening.

Rorrer had been ill since his return from the World War, during which he was badly gassed. Physicians said he was suffering from a blood clot on the brain as well as from a serious lung condition which was the result of breathing poisonous gas.

Born November 10, 1891 (Correction here 1893), Rorrer was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Rorrer, of Dameron. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Belle Rorrer, and six sons and daughters.

They are as follows: Fulton Rorrer, Carl Rorrer, Virgil Rorrer, Virginia Rorrer, Essie Belle Rorrer, and Arsone (Arizona) Lee Rorrer.

Brothers and sisters living are as follows: Walter Rorrer, Henry Rorrer, Fred Rorrer, Mrs. Roy Miller, and Mrs. Ollie Leverty all of Dameron, and Mrs. Margie Jarrell and Mrs. Wavie Daniel, both of Edwight.

Funeral services will be conducted at the home of in Dameron this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. Henry Pettry. Burial will be at the home cemetery.
