Lawrence Riggin Expired in Collinsville Saturday
Lawrence W. Riggin, a native of Troy but for many years a resident of Collinsville, died last Saturday evening at his home in that city from heart trouble. He had been in failing health for the past several years as the result of a severe illness from influenza from which he never entirely recovered. His age was 65 years, 4 months and 28 days.
The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Schroeppel funeral parlors to the Methodist church and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery.
Deceased was a son of the late John and Clementine Collins and was born on a farm near Troy in 1873. He attended the Troy public school and when still a young man went to Collinsville and established himself in the fruit and produce business which he continued up until his death. He discontinued his store several years ago but continued to sell from a wagon.
He was married a number of years to Miss Mary Kubat of Collinsville, who survives him. They had no children. Other surviving relatives are four brothers who are: Orlando Riggin of Chicago, T. A. Riggin of Collinsville and Henry and John Riggin of California. There is aso one half-sister Alice Bond, of Staunton, and one half-brother, John H. Collins of Troy, also two nieces and two nephews.

A marriage license was issued this week to Lawrence Riggin and Miss Mary Kubort of Collinsville. Mr. Riggin is a native of Troy and went to Collinsville several years ago to operate a vegetable and provision market in company with his brother, Henry. His many friends here will congratulate him in his new venture.
