Henry E. Eck
Henry E. Eck, 78, of 10 Western Drive, West Alexandria, died Friday, June 27, at his home.
Born June 27, 1917, in Lanier Twp., he was the son of Homer and Lucy (Robert) Eck. He had been an assistant store manager of Cox's Supermarket in Richmond, Ind., for about 10 years, and had previously worked for Hammond's IGA in West Alexandria and Inland Manufacturing.
He had formerly been a West Alexandria Village Council member, and a member of the West Alexandria Board of Education. He was a member of Gleaners Chapter # 182 OES, King Hiram F&AM #88 and West Alexandria Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward & Linda Eck of West Alexandria, Fred & Robin Eck, of Eaton; a special daughter Alma Beneke of West Alexandria; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Eck, Tamara Melling, Mark Eck, Wayne Eck and Brenda…12 great-grandchildren , Michael Melling, Tiffany Melling, Max Eck, Cassey Eck, Whitney Melling, and Tanner Eck, one brother, Gene Eck of West Alexandria and one sister, Rosella Gross of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by a sister Juanita Marks and his parents.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 25, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Daniel Spinder(?) officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.
