Glenville Anderson was born December 6, 1890 at Ida Township, Douglas County, the son of Andrew and Lizzie Anderson. He was baptized by Rev. Sattre and confirmed at First Lutheran Church by Rev. Benson. Glenville served in World War One; after his Honorable Discharge he homesteaded in Grygla, Minnesota and lived there for two years when he returned to LaGrand Township. He was united in marriage to Milda Ostlund in 1920. She preceded him in death in 1927. Mr. Anderson was employed by the Great Northern Railway.
He passed away at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home, April 25, 1977 at the age of 86 years. Surviving are two sons: Willard L. Anderson of Alexandria; Edward L. Anderson of Great Falls, Montana; also surviving are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Alvina (Mrs. Henry Nelson) of Alexandria; one brother Wilhelm Anderson of St. Paul, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Marvin; and one brother, Clifford Anderson.
Funeral services were held April 29, 1977 at First Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minn. Pallbearers were Roland Anderson, Russell c. Anderson, Clinton Anderson, Robert Anderson, Norman Kvilhaug and Floyd E. Johnson. Rev. Ronald Otterson, Rev. Philip Westby officiating. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minn. There were military honors.
