I'm now in possession of land records from Licking County for Amanda's father, John Denison. This, as well as census and tax forms, now allow me to pinpoint exactly where Amanda was born. The Denison farm was located in the refugee tract range 19 tp 17 sec 4, which was originally Harrison Township, but later became Etna. Confirming this is an early 1839-40 Denison University Catalog (then called Granville Literary and Theological Institution), in which her oldest brother, Stanley Denison (#23571780) was noted as being from "Etna."
Amanda and Rev. Isaac later settled in Lima Township, and raised their large family there. Her younger brother, Wesley Denison (#37716492) and at least one of her half-sisters---Emily (Denison) Tharp---also settled in Lima Township. She and Rev. Isaac removed to Missouri sometime between the 1860 and 1870 federal censuses, after all of their children had already been born.
Amanda was the granddaughter of famous Revolutionary War Colonel Nathan Denison (linked through her father's page) and wife Elizabeth (Sill) Denison, whose former home in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, is now a museum called the "Nathan Denison House." She was also descended from two "Mayflower" passengers: William Brewster (through Elizabeth Sill) and John Howland (through Nathan Denison).
