He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Robert on March 7, 1931, in Preble County, Ohio. To this union, 6 known children were born: Jack Wayne Shiverdecker, Lewis Allen Shiverdecker, Freda Marie Shiverdecker, Thelma Jean Shiverdecker, Larry Dale Shiverdecker, and Lorna Jane Shiverdecker.

He played baseball with the Dayton Industrial Baseball League in Dayton, OH, worked as a factory worker, and was a member of the Masonic fraternity.

He died at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, following an extended illness with cancer. He was interned on May 24, 1984.

Abraham L. (Cody) Siverdecker, 75, 14599 Brookville-Pyrmont Pike, Brookville, died May 21 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton after an extended illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three daughters, Freda Falldorf, Thelma Brower of Lewisburg and Lorna Bowser of Brookville; three sons, Jack of Camden, Lewis of Brookville and Larry of South Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene of Lewisburg; and two sisters, Mildred Garst of Kettering and Muriel Shiverdecker of Lewisburg.

Funeral services were Thursday at Pyrmont United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Hal J. Hevener officiating. Burial was in Prymont Cemetery. Gilbert Funeral Home, Brookville, was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oncology Department at Good Samaritan Hospital or Pyrmont United Methodist Church.
