A resident of Springfield, She was 87, born in Beauregard, Miss., the daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Elizabeth Hennington. Surviving are her daughter, Johnnye Pearl Creek; daughter and son-in-law, Cherie and Charlie Taylor; son and daughter-in-law, Philip "Flip" and Debbie Box; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margarite Granberry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Preston Box; an infant daughter; son-in-law, Bruce Creek; granddaughter, Janelle Box; and 11 brothers and sisters.
