Gwen Jones was 71 years old, the daughter of Martin Daniel Spohn and Rosa Dennis Willard. She attended Miami High School and served as the nursery teacher at the Nazarene Church for many years. She was a member of the Church of God Holiness in Miami. She married Mitchell H. Jones on July 27, 1946 in Columbus, KS. He preceded her in death on July, 29, 1974.
Survivors include three sons: Mitchell D. Jones, Raytown, MO., Calvin Ray Jones and Bruce Jones of Miami. One daughter: Bonnie McLaughlin of MO. Brothers; Paul Raymond Spohn, Harvey J. Spohn, James Eugene Spohn, Dennis Spohn and Marvin Spohn. sisters; Gladys Lucille Woods, Mary Louise Goff, Alberta Jean Coffman; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was at Church of God Holiness with Rev. Onos Hood officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami, OK. Pallbearers will be Roy Vanatta, Kurt McCall, Tom easely, Rick Evans, Pat Pulley and Bill Lansford.
