Gordon W. Adams, of Hoquiam, formerly of Issaquah, died in Hoquiam on Saturday, November 1, 2008. He was 96 years of age.

Gordon was born on April 30, 1912 in Gandy, Nebraska, to Moses and Maude Adams. He was raised in Gandy where he graduated from Logan High School. He attended accounting classes in Lincoln, Nebraska. On January 25, 1940, he married Ardith Will in Lincoln. Gordon served with the United States Navy during World War II and at the time of his discharge was a Chief Commissary Stewart. He and his wife moved to Issaquah in 1948. Gordon was Branch Manager of Whitehall Labs in Renton, Washington.

He was a Charter Member of the Issaquah Elks, a lifetime member of the Issaquah Eagles and Lions, and the Central Park Lions Club. In 1983, the couple moved to Moclips, Washington. In 1993, they moved to Ocean Shores and finally to Hoquiam. Gordon enjoyed gardening, fishing, and travel. He was known to always be ready to lend a helping hand where needed.

Survivors include his loving wife for 68 years, Ardith Adams, of Hoquiam; grandsons Shawn Foley, of Snoqualmie and Jason Carlson, of Jupiter Florida; and sisters Shirley Dain Coen, of Arnold, Nebraska and Helen Figurski, of Glendale, Arizona. His daughters Arlana Adams and Sharon Carlson preceded him in death.

At his request there will no services. Arrangements are by Flintoft's Funeral Home and Crematory
