Ernest U. Ballinger

Ernest U. Ballinger, 60, died Thursday at his residence in Greenwood. He had been a resident of Greenwood since 1974.

He was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Gas City. His parents were Ira Ballinger and Margaret (Nelson) Ballinger. He married Nancy King July 11, 1959, in Gas City. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Gregory A. Ballinger of Indianapolis and Richard L. King of Champaign, Ill.; a daughter, Debra Kay Ballinger of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; five brothers, Dwight Ballinger of Matthews, James E. Ballinger of Costa Mesa, Calif., Glenn Ballinger of Galenia, Ohio, Murval Ballinger of Largo, Fla. and Leon Ballinger of Gas City; and a sister, Margaret Rumple of Scottsburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Ballinger.

He was owner of Ballinger and Associates in Indianapolis for 22 years.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

The Rev. Robert Kessinger will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in White River Township. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
