He married in Deerfield Twp, Fulton Co, IL 13 Aug 1865 Susan A. WAGNER (1842-1933) d/o Abraham Wagner & Anna Maria Hertzell. *3 Children: Bessie, George A. & Lester D.
HITTLE family farmed in Delaware Twp, Northumberland County, PA until 1846 when they moved for a short time to Niagara County, NY, then in 1853 the family migrated west to Fulton County, IL where they settled on a farm in Lee Township Section 19. In 1861 Henry L. HITTLE enrolled into Black Hawk Calvary later name was changed to the Company G 7th Missouri Calvary, he was mustered out 1865. His wife received a Civil War Widows pension for his service. After the war and his marriage they lived on a 155 acre farm in Walnut Grove Twp, McDonough Co, IL.
