Beloved wife of Ite, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in the presence of her Lord at the age of 96. Alice immigrated to Canada in 1951 with her husband, 5 children, and extended family and settled in Alberta. In 1967, they moved to Richmond and later retired to Abbotsford. Alice will be greatly missed by her husband of 68 years and nine children: Peter (Peg), Alice (Bert), Tom (Joanne), Klaas (Ann), Martha (Bob), John (Dianne), Al (Harriet), Theresa (John), Ed (Teresa), 34 grandchildren and their spouses, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 more expected. Alice evidenced a deep faith in her Lord throughout her life and had the ability to welcome strangers as friends and to keep family and friends connected with love. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Kinsman Place Lodge in Surrey. A celebration of Alice's life will be held Monday, March 23 at 1:30 pm in the Fleetwood Christian Reformed Church, 9165 - 160th Avenue, Surrey. Interment at Valley View Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee c/o the church. .
