Bobbie Ruth Walker, 84, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 in Duncan.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Marlow Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Services will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Ruth was born Friday, October 3, 1930 in Marlow, to George Garland and Nettie (Witt) Collins. Ruth grew up in Marlow and graduated from Marlow High School. She attended Cameron University in Lawton before earning her bachelors degree in education from Cal State Fullerton in California. On November 22, 1951, Ruth married Gaines S. Walker at her parent's home in Marlow, he preceded her in death on October 11, 2005. Ruth moved to California in 1955, where she began her teaching profession. She loved her students and was an educator for 25 years. After retirement, they returned to Marlow to be close to family. She volunteered with the Samaritans and enjoyed taking care of her yard and going shopping. Ruth was an avid reader, loved watching NCIS and Blue Bloods, and working puzzles.

Survivors include,
sister, Joan Collins of Marlow;
nephews and nieces, Gary and Dixie Collins of Tulsa, Kent and Elizabeth Collins of Duncan, Robert and Bunny Collins of Marlow, Billy Ray and Teresa Marshall of Overland Park, Kansas, Norma Jean Weiss of Rhode Island, Charolotte and Jim Holker of California;
numerous great nieces and nephews.

Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gaines S. Walker, Jr.; sisters, Lorene Collins, Marie Marshall, Morene Empting, Wanda Hester; twin brothers, Glyndel G and Lyndel Lee Collins, and brother, Lester Collins.
