She was born Nov. 8, 1941, at Williamsville, Mo., to Alfred and Margie Hillis.
Helen was an avid seamstress and embroider. She enjoyed oil painting and ceramics. Helen loved to garden and can vegetables. She also enjoyed fishing.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sister, Sue Anderson, and grand-daughter, Jamie Ashton Yates.
Helen is survived by her husband, Othniel "Soney" Yates of the home; sons, Niel Yates and James Yates and his wife Amanda, all of Paragould; daughter, Lynn Aronson and her husband Dave of Paragould; brothers, Steve and Jeff Hillis; sisters, Clara and Christine Clubb; and grand-children, Crystal, D.J., Sam, Breanna, Koda and Jaden.
Services were held at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery.
