Dale Eugene Allis, 67, formerly of Rome, Pa passed away on February 17, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dale was born on February 3, 1948 in Towanda, Pa a son of the late Paul M. and Madeline (Manchester) Allis. He was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School and proudly served his country with the US Army from 1967 – 1970. Dale was a long time employee of Douglas Brothers Paving and most recently for the Black Knights Quarry.

Dale was a member of the VFW Post 6824 and a former member of the Towanda American Legion. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, sports, tractor pulls, and was an avid supporter of area youth wrestling. Although his greatest pleasure was being surrounded by his family and friends.


Dale is survived by his children: Paul R. Allis (Jason Heinecke) of Capitol Heights, MD; James P. Yost (Sally Wheeland) of Owego, NY; Rodney J. Yost (Rose Johnson); Lorie A. Allis (Scott Johnson); Tammy L. (Antonio) Aponte-Lopez all of Towanda, Pa; a brother Daryl L. Allis (Greg Wood) of Delaware; sister Carol A. Allis (Jody Johnson) of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren: Scott Allis, Ryan Allis, Troy Pierce, Derek Pierce, Katrina Saxon, Greg Morningstar, Shawn Morningstar, Rodney Yost, Jr., Mark Yost, Randy Yost, Jason Heinecke, Tracie Heinecke, Stacie Heinecke, James Yost, Jr.; Krista Yost, Rebecca Yost; 13 great grandchildren. Dale was predeceased by his parents Paul M. and Madeline Allis; his wife Virginia Vanderpool Allis on November 26, 2003; a daughter Renee Carey; and a brother Dean P. Allis.

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 3 to 5 at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 23rd at 11 am in the Rome Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded. A luncheon and time of sharing will be held following the services at the VFW Post.
