Declaration of Conrad Riegelman April 13, 1833 - a resident of Greenwich Township, aged 74 years.
He was drafted in the militia during the Revolutionary War, does not recollect precise time, and attached to the Company of Captain Jacob Ladich, in the Regiment of Col, Balzer Geehr, Major Lindemuth and served two months in the same, resided at the time in Greenwich Township, marched from Reading, thence through Easton, Bethlehem, New Jersey to Amboy where he remained until his time expired and he was sent home. Again drafted in the Militia, and attached to Company Captain Daniel Will, The Company assembled at Hamburg, from thence marched through Shamokin to Fort Wallace near Wyoming where he remained until his term of service which was two months had expired. He was once more drafted in the militia and attached to the Company of Captain Jacob Leiby, during the War of the Revolution, marched from home to Philadelphia from whence they were marched to Newtown where he remained until his term of service which was two months expired and he was sent home* Cannot recollect exact times he served nor continental regiments nor names of any regular officers. No documentary evidence of service nor knows of any person whose testimony he can procure.
Jacob George, Maxatawney Township and John Kutz of Kutztown certify Conrad Riegelman was believed in their neighborhood to be a Revolutionary soldier, 1833.
Treasury Department, February 13, 1840 - widow of Conrad Riegelman receives pension from March 4, 1837 to July 17, 1838 day of death of Conrad Riegelman, 6 months.
