Passed Away Saturday at Home of His Brother South of City.
George A. Campbell died Saturday evening at the home of his brother, John Campbell two miles south of this city. He was a sufferer from Bright's disease and had been sick for two or three years most of the time. His age was 73 and had never married. The funeral services were held yesterday at the Campbell residence being conducted by Reverend Sands, pastor of the Cincinnati M. E. circuit, and the remains were were laid to rest in Oakland cemetery at this place.
Mr. Campbell was a man of considerable means, owning several farms in this county and lands in Wayne county. Until the last two years and for a number of years back it had been his custom to spend his winters in California where his sister resided. Lately he had not been able to make the trip. His brother and other relatives were very kind to him and gave him every care and attention and he in turn was very appreciative of their kindness. Deceased was born in Fayette County in 1875, having thus lived here nearly 30 years. He was well-known and highly esteemed in the community.

GEORGE CAMPBELL DIES
Prominent and Well Known Citizen Living South of City
The death of George Campbell at the home of his brother, John Campbell, south of town Saturday, removed another of the old settlers of the county, and one who had been prominently identified with the increase of prosperity in the county. In an early day he came to the state, settling in Lee county and later coming to Appanoose. He prospered as a farmer and acquired considerable property. As he never married he has made his home with his brother for years. All this time he has lived an uptight, honorable life, and dies mourned by many friends. Besides his brother John he has a sister in California. He had reached the age of about 75 and died as a result of being afflicted with diabetes. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the late home, Rev. W. S. Moore, of Cincinnati, conducting the services. Interment was at Oakland cemetery.
