Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. Great-grandchildren of Mr. McCoy will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born Oct. 26, 1911, in Brooks County, he was the son of the late John Buck McCoy and Ida Guess McCoy. He was a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Kate Croft McCoy of Berlin; a son, Marcine McCoy and wife Delores of Douglasville, Ga.; daughters, Janette May and husband Horace of Berlin, Linda Presley and husband Darrell of Hampton, Ga., Beth Redding and husband Stanley of Moultrie, Susan Griffin and husband Larry of Leesburg, Ga. and Nancy Norman and husband Stanley of Moultrie; a brother, Dock McCoy of Berlin; 14 grandchildren, Deede and Kirk Gable and Todd and Susan McCoy, all of Douglasville, Ga., Tami and Danny Ward and David and Kim May, all of Berlin, Jeffrey and Kathy Presley of Knoxville, Tenn., Chris and Michele Presley and Jeanie and Jed Smith all of Peachtree City, Ga., Lane McDuffie of Hampton, Ga., Jody and Deidre Redding of Berlin, Jason and Laura Griffin and Eric Griffin, all of Atlanta, Ga., Jeremy Norman of New York, Heath Norman and Sunny Norman both of Moultrie; 26 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Klint and Blaine Gable, Jessica and Trent McCoy, Sarah, Ryan and Rebekah Ward, Leah, Meagan, Jared, Hudson and Garrett May, Hannah and Alyssa Presley, Amber, Brandon and Cade Presley, Rex and Sam Smith, Mitchell and Nicholas McDuffie, Brice and Blake Redding and Charlie and Caroline Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.
