Jordan Bonner, Sr. was born on 12 Dec 1767 in Green Hall, Chowan County, North Carolina to Thomas Bonner and Margaret (Jones) Bonner and died on 08 May 1841 in Washington County, Alabama. He was 73 years old. The part of Washington County where Jordan died is now in Choctaw County. Jordan married Unknown Martin and they had one child together. Jordan's first wife and their child died in a house fire in about 1793 when the child was young.
After their death, Jordan married Rachel Moon in 1796. Jordan and Rachel had seven children: Hiram; Seaborne Lafayette; Olive; Jordan; Henry; Ahab; and Matilda.
After Rachel's death, Jordan married Mary Polly Adams on 03 Oct 1811 in Clarke County, Georgia. Jordan and Polly moved to Washington County, Alabama shortly after they were married. Polly became concerned over her and their children's well-being, so she asked Jordan for them to move to Choctaw County, Alabama. Shortly after the family moved, the village where Jordan and Polly lived in Washington County was attacked by Indians. There were very few survivors. Legend has it that Jordan was at Fort Mims the day before the attack occurred. Jordan and Polly had 14 children: Mahala; Elizabeth; Allen; Emily; Thomas; George Washington; Mary; Wilmoth Almira; Rebecca Ann; James H.; Arrena; William M. "Bill"; Josiah; and Amelia.
