AUGUSTA MARIE PETERS
MONTICELLO...Funeral services for Augusta Marie Peters, wife of Henry Peters, route two, Monticello, were held Wednesday,Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. from St. Matthew Lutheran church with the Rev. John P. Willms officiating and burial at Oakwood.
Mrs. Peters died at John McDonald hospital Sunday following a brief illness.
Mrs. Peters was born June 25, 1890 near Monticello, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Zimmerman Behrends.
She attended rural schools in Jones county and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church, making the Monticello community her home her entire life.
She was married to Henry Peters of Monticello, Jan. 14, 1914, and they farmed in the Monticello area.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Ben.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Peters; two sons, William and Raymond, both of Monticello and one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Edna) Stammer of Lansing Ill. Also surviving
are four grandchildren, two brothers, William and Alva Behrends, both of Monticello and one sister, Mrs. Anne Gerdes, also of Monticello.
Pallbearers included Loren Freese, Duane Freese, Richard Mardorf, Robert Wahl, Roy Reuter and Lyle Behrends.
