From Thurston Genealogies, Second edition, compiled by Brown Thurston, 1892, page 450:

Peter Thurston was a son of David and Rachel (Chapin) Thurston of Mexico, N.Y. He was born in New Lisbon, N.Y. on January 31, 1795 and married January, 1821 to Anna Kelsey who was also born in New Lisbon, August 28, 1799. She died at Grand Marsh, Wisconsin on January 5, 1856. He was a farmer in Garden City, Minnesota and member of the Baptist church. He died January 3, 1881. They had six children:

(1) Ellis David - born Nov. 10, 1821 in Pittsfield, N.Y.; married Eleanor Augusta Lynch. He was ordained deacon in the Methodist Episcopal church.
(2) Esther - born Jan. 1, 1823 in New Lisbon, N.Y. married to Rev. Rodney S. Rose; she died Oct. 1859.
(3) Jesse Moses - born May 14, 1825; married to Polly Ann Smith. He is a Baptist clergyman at Windom, Minnesota.
(4) Charles Edwin - born Dec. 15, 1826; married to Sarah Ballard; he sailed from New York city for the Sandwich Islands, and after a six months' voyage arrived at San Francisco, Cal.; lived in that state a few years, and died at Lower Lake, Cal., 1867; no children.
(5) Phebe - born Feb. 1832; married to Lucius Terry, a farmer in Garden City, Minnesota.
(6) Albert Peter - born August 1837; married and was a surgeon in the war against the rebellion; died from exposure and fatigue at the battle of Pittsburg Landing, at Keokuk, Illinois, August 3, 1862. One child.
