Esther Dancheck, of Mountain Top, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011, in Hospice Community Care at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, following an illness. Her husband of 51 years is Bernard J. Dancheck.

Esther was born in Bear Creek to the late Stephen and Mary Sapp. Esther was educated in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.

She was employed by RCA, Mountain Top and for various clothing manufacturers.

She was a faithful and longtime member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral, Wilkes-Barre.

Esther was preceded in death by her infant son Matthew; and a brother, Stephen Sapp.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Bernard, are her daughters, Susan Barney and Andy of Kingston, and Maria Heylek of Plains Township and her fiance, Michael Sitar; her three grandsons, A.J. Barney and Jacob and Lucas Heylek; her sisters, Evelyn Suhoski and Justine Gulczyski; her brothers George and John Sapp, and several nieces and nephews.

Private requiem services will be held at the convenience of the family with Archpriest Joseph Martin officiating.

Interment will take place at St. Tikhon of Zadonsk Orthodox Cemetery, South Canaan.
