The shadow of gloom was again cast upon this community Sunday evening when it was announced that Wilfred Conner was dead. He had been failing in health for the past five months, and for the past four weeks has been confined to his bed.
Wilfred was born in Fairbury, Neb. 1-18-1892 and died 5-18-1924 at the age of 32 years and 4 months. in 1901 he moved with his parents to western Kansas and a year later to the vicinity of Stratton, Neb. where he has since resided. he attended the Stratton schools and was graduated in the class of 1911. For three years thereafter he taught in rural schools near Stratton and since then has been involved in farming. He was married 3-1-1912 to Edith (Della) Gummere, who with five children, Ivan, Kenneth, Harold, Howard and Sarah Jane survive him. He will be buried in the Rose Hills Cemetery, Stratton.
