Funeral services for John Floyd Wade were conducted Wednesday from the Thackerville School auditorium with John Broesh Thackerville Church of Christ minister officiating. Mr Wade died June 16 enroute to the Veterans Hospital at McKinney, Texas. He was born in Texas on May 13, 1938 and had lived in the Thackerville community for many years. He was married to the former Miss Nellie Nipp. Mr Wade was a member of the Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the United States Navy.
Survivors are his wife Mrs Nellie Wade of the home, two sons; James Wade of Thackerville and Johnnie Wade U S Navy San Diego, Calif., two daughters; Mrs Steve Smith of Arlington, Texas and Mrs Charles Whittington Jr of Walters, four brothers; Richard Wade of Raeford, N C., B K Wade of Santa Paula, California, O T Wade of Modesto, California and Cecil Wade of Auburn, California; two sisters, Mrs Eugene Nipp of Honey Grove, Texas and Mrs O L Langley of Modesto, California and 11 grandchildren.
Interment was in the Simon cemetery where Masonic services were held.
Pallbearers were Buddy Young, Charles Young, Luke Langston, Lucian Langston, Ray Daugherty and Judge Brown.
Goodrich Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
