Josephine is said to have never married or have children. She was a real life swamp lady! She lived in the swamps of Louisiana, fished, hunted and is said to have wrestled alligators. She pretty much vanished off the grid as there aren't many records for her after to was an adult. I cannot find burial records, so I'll assume she is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans with her sister, Marie Gauthier Templet.
