Norma K. Leggitt, 65, of McQueeney, passed away on May 9, 2006. A Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in San Marcos, Texas, with the Rev. Brice Mandaville officiating. Interment will follow at San Marcos Cemetery.

Norma was born in Marlin, Texas, to the late Marvin and Cullie (Peeples) Byrd, and was a proud graduate of Marlin High School, Class of 1959. She often spoke of the fond memories and special friendships developed during that time of her life. Norma married David Tate, of Marlin, immediately upon graduation. They resided in Waco and had two children, Dave and Donna. Norma was widowed in 1983.

A number of years later, she became reacquainted with and ultimately married Don C. Leggitt, Sr. They have been happily married ever since. Norma's life was one of understated significance. Her passion was her spouse, family and close friends. Her support and involvement was meaningful, valued and appreciated by those close to her. Her legacy will be the remembrance of that support and counsel.

A sister, Joann Davenport, preceded her in death.

Norma is survived by her devoted husband, Don C. Leggitt, Sr., of McQueeney; son, David W. Tate, Jr. and his wife, Helen, of Dallas; daughter, Donna Minor and her husband, Steve, of Lorena; grandchildren: Micah Minor, Alex Tate, and Claire Tate; brothers, Garland Byrd and his wife, Barbara, of McGregor, and Gary Beck, of Austin; stepson, Don C.
