Evelyn Bacon Hansen of Logan passed away 9 February 2015 in Logan, Cache, Utah.

Evelyn was born in Montpelier, Bear Lake, Idaho on 19 September 1924, the youngest of Frank Wilbur Bacon & Grace Smart's children.

Evelyn lived in Georgetown, Bear Lake, Idaho until her graduation from High School. It was then that she moved to Logan, Cache, Utah.

It was there that Evelyn met and married LaVon G Hansen in the Logan LDS Temple on 24 July 1946. They were the parents of 5 children.

Evelyn was proud to have worked at Hill AFB during World War II. In Logan, Evelyn worked at Smith's Food King, USU Book Store and Tots to Teens.

Evelyn served in many capacities in the LDS Church, including Relief Society President and as a teacher. Her testimony was very strong and sustained her throughout her life.

Evelyn served a mission with her eternal companion at the Mesa Arizona Temple Visitor's Center and for many years as officiators at the Logan LDS Temple.

Evelyn will be remembered for many things and some of them were her potato salad and lemon meringue pie. It was requested many, many times by those who knew about it.

Evelyn loved to sing and shared her talent through singing with the Towne Singers for many years.

Oil painting had become a passion for Evelyn in later life and she enjoyed sharing that talent until mascular degeneration took her eyesight.

Along with her talents of cooking and painting were her love of writing and her special gift of recalling telephone numbers.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kendell and 5 sisters, Janice Solum, Bernice Bartchie, Lucille Hill, Nina Stewart & Edith Bacon.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 68 years, 4 children, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 brother & 1 sister.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Logan 16th Ward, 125 W 600 N. Burial in Logan City Cemetery.
