Clarence Briggs was born in North Collins, NY to parents, Wallace Briggs (North Collins, NY) and Adelia (Staffin) Briggs (Langford, NY). Early in his career, he was also employed at Condenseo Mince Meat (in or near North Collins, NY), where he worked with his wife's mother, Emily Gale (the elder). He married Julia E. (Gale) Briggs (Hamburg, NY), and they had one child, Bernice Gale (Briggs) Babcock Sprague. Clarence died in 1953.
